THE TWO CHARACTER DESIGN

SHINGO ARAKI:

Born on January 1, 1939 in Tokyo, he was a famous Japanese cartoonist, animator

and character designer.

Best known for his role as Character designer for titles such as:

Devilman, UFO Robot Grendizer, Lady Oscar, The Knights of the Zodiac and many others.In 1957 Araki won the award for best new talent at the age of 18 for his debut as a cartoonist in Machi, his city's monthly magazine.Subsequently he created numerous manga pages for the major publishing houses in the country for about 8 years, an apprenticeship that finally led him to fulfill his dream of becoming an animator: in 1965, at the age of 26, he began working on the anime for Mushi Productions Jungle Taitei (Kimba the White Lion), starting a very successful and long-lasting career in the field of animation, working on numerous highly successful series.
He died in Tokyo on 1 December 2011, aged 72, from sudden circulatory collapse.
In December 2012, a commemorative book on the work of master Shingo Araki was released in Japan.
Throughout his prolific career he has worked profitably as a character designer (becoming one of the most appreciated both in Japan and abroad) and also as an animator and drawing supervisor with many great artists in the field, including:
Michi Himeno, with whom she works on numerous successful series such as Ufo Robot Grendizer, Lady Oscar, The Knights of the Zodiac and many others, generally taking care of the male characters and leaving the female ones to her;Masami Kurumada, author of titles such as Knights of the Zodiac, B't X, Fuma no Kojiro and Ring ni kakero;
Gō Nagai, with whom he created the animated versions of Devilman, Cutie Honey and Ufo Robot Grendizer;
Riyoko Ikeda, author of some shōjo manga, famous above all for Versailles no Bara, known in Italy as Lady Oscar, Araki's first successful work.
He founded Studio Jaguar in 1966 and, together with Michi Himeno, Araki Production in 1975.

Born on August 16, 1956, she is a Japanese animator and character designer, best known for her work on titles such as Knights of the Zodiac and Lady Oscar.

His collaboration with Shingō Araki is famous and fruitful, with whom he worked on numerous highly successful series, generally taking care of the female characters leaving the male ones to him.
